Now that you’ve mastered some of the basics (weaves, jump thrus, egg beaters, isolations, etc) – its time to focus on learning how to combine those moves into a fantastic sequence! This class is designed for students who have taken Katie’s beginner class before, or who have been practicing on their own and know the aforementioned moves. We will be using slightly smaller and lighter hoops in class – many different sizes will be provided.

During the first hour of this class, Katie will teach a few intermediate hoop tricks that build on what the students already know. Students will practice different weave, hand spin, and isolation variations in order to expand their repertoire of hoop moves.

During the second hour, Katie will teach several movement sequences and combos. Practicing how to combine our favorite tricks into a sequence will help us to understand how we can ‘flow’ from one move into the next. Students will be encouraged to focus on transitions, combo moves, and incorporating dance into their practice. Learning how to transition between moves is essential for developing a ‘flow’ with your hoop as you play and dance – and unlocking our ‘flow’ is a fantastic way to dive into the calming and meditative aspects of hula hoop dance!
