Description of Cyr Wheel:

Roue Cyr was developed primarily by Daniel Cyr in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. The device is a simple metal ring made from aluminum or steel. The ring allows the acrobat to manipulate and develop with the object. The acrobat is able to move in a gyroscopic pattern inside the ring in order to create motion and movement. Cyr Wheel is a low impact sport that utilizes various elements of physics, muscle use, and concentration in order to produce results. In addition, Cyr Wheel is still a developing discipline. This means that there are always new developments of movement and manipulation to be produced by artists and acrobats.
